Ricky Kempton

Ricky graduated from the British School of Osteopathy in 2009 following 4 years of study. Ricky then founded The Surrey Osteopaths not long after graduating in both the Woking Leisure Centre and Westcroft Leisure Centre in Carshalton.

As a practitioner, I pride myself on treating a very broad spectrum of patients; from very young newborns, to the professional athlete, to keeping patients healthy and active in later life.

I also spent two years working and travelling with the golfers on the Ladies European Tour. This was a great experience working alongside athletes and coaches to get the most out of the players during the tournament. We also worked through medium and long term plans to recover from injuries and prevent these returning during a long season.

In terms of treatment modalities, I like to use massage, stretching and manipulation to help ease patients’ issues. I can also use both cranial and visceral techniques if I deem it necessary. I have also trained in the use of therapeutic laser, k-taping, cupping and Rockblades to assist hands on treatment. Finally, through an in depth knowledge of exercise prescription, all patients will receive some ‘homework’ from myself which can range from basic stretches and exercises to stability exercises to complex weightlifting movements.

In my spare time, I play golf at Walton Heath Artisans (playing of 4.7 as I write this), visit the gym in both leisure centres where I mainly focus on weight training and Crossfit type exercises and I volunteer with Sutton Grammar CCF where I am Major and run the Army section.
