Associate Osteopath

Lydia Armitage

Lydia qualified at the renowned European School of Osteopathy in Kent 5 years ago following 4 years study. She has a strong sporting background which first led her to study for a degree in Sport and Exercise Science at the University of Exeter. Lydia has been working at The Surrey Osteopaths since 2022.

I had previously spent time working as a tennis coach and ski instructor.  It is this experience combined with my sport science studies that really help me to understand and appreciate not only the stresses and strains put through the body during sport and exercise on a physical level but on a psychological level too.

I apply a dynamic and versatile approach to treatment, working with patients to develop a tailored and individual treatment plan. I like to use a range of techniques both structural and cranial whilst treating a wide range of patients including sports people, office workers, expectant mothers and the elderly in order to get the optimum results from each patient.

In my opinion, movement really is medicine and I believe the most effective and efficient functioning of the body is essential for both physical and mental well- being.

Outside of work I am always outdoors keeping active and is a keen triathlete completing my first Ironman in Wales 2019.
